I know older kids tend to help out with the younger ones, but I don't like the idea where there are so many children in the family that the older ones are deputized. Children should get to be children, even while learning responsibility. I'm referring specifically to extreme situations such as the Duggars, where they have what they call a buddy system, but for all intents and purposes the older children raise the younger ones.
