Today, I spent a bit of money.

I got my new-to-me MacBook Pro. I would have preferred the smaller MacBook, but gift horses and all. It's a little sticky, so I don't know what the previous owner did with it. I'm also going to have to learn to touch-type better in Russian because I don't see how stickers would work with these magic light-up keys. Пока получается медленно.

I also ordered two pairs of glasses (and so did Andy, but his came from a brick-and-mortar store, so no pictures yet.




Also got two pairs of earrings from Indonesia,
The intermediary 6 gauge stage (honestly, they didn't have anything else in this size I liked)


The awesome 4 gauge kitties.


I also registered both cars online and... probably did other awfully productive stuff.

Can you explain to me what happens with these earrings? Why do people like stretching their earlobes and earring holes? I don't get it. 'cause it causes the increase automatically, right? Or am I wrong?

Well, normal, rational people get tapers and use them put in larger earrings. I just buy ones with tapered ends, lube them up and slide them in slowly.

Why do people do it? Why do people do everything else with their bodies? I'm not much of a tattoo girl (mostly because I haven't found anything I'd want to have on my body forever), but I like holes. Anything under 1/2" tends to spring back pretty easily, so that's probably as far as I'm going.

Oh, but I mean you're not planning on increasing the holes forever? I'm talking about people with like 2-inches-in-diameter kind of holes or larger :0) It just looks very unusual...

To each their own, as it were. My compunction about such large holes is that their interior surface looks funny, so I don't think I quite want them that big.

I know and agree. It just seems "so out there", outside of the "pan-European aesthetic" (I personally have not seen it on a black man or woman) that it makes me wonder why people go for holes that big :0) LOL, reread it and it sounds hilarious... our conversation about the holes. I need to get my mind out of the gutter.

Heh, I like the gutter. I've seen some non-white people with stretched ears, but I look at a lot of bod-mod media.

And that's part of the reason I like to live in large, coastal cities! Now, you can argue that Chicago fits that profile, but that doesn't take it out of the proverbial Midwest.

Do you ever use the Phonetic Russian option on your Mac? It allows you to type in Russian using the regular English keyboard.

I'm a bit of a purist and I prefer the common keyboard layouts. I've almost got it, I figure I might as well get there.

I have never even seen a true Russian keyboard. Have not idea what that layout is looks like. I use translit.ru and then copy-paste into LJ. lol

Can you post a pic of those earnings in action please. I'd love to see. Vitalik already asked all the questions I would've asked myself, but now I want to see how they look. The ones you posted are cute as far as earnings-that-stretch-earlobes goes.
