We're also taking our little trip, but although it's romantic it's more related to Presidents' Day than that other February thing.

i wanted to name a roach for Patric for Valentine's. but he wasn't too enthusiastic about it. he said that he already has a roach and then he looked at me. :-)

That's hilarious, and an awesome fundraising idea! I'm not terribly fond of roaches as a concept after living in DC, though.

i know exactly what you mean about roaches in DC after having lived in NYC for a number of years.
we don't do Valentine's either (the only thing we barely do -- and even that not always -- are our birthdays), but i really liked the idea with the roaches. :-) and Bronx is our favorite zoo.
