I have been looking for a new bag. When I get it into my head that I want a specific something or rather, I go in with several rules rather than a specific picture. Like in this case, I wanted something brightly-colored, with two handles and a strap, hopefully something that folds over and expands, and relatively sturdy.

And, of course, I never buy bags that have obvious brand names on them, words, bows or flowers, bling, or gold hardware.

I have no idea whether this is a good or a bad brand, and I couldn't care less. I don't think it's very high quality, and since I bought it for about a quarter of its original price, I don't really care. It does smell of funny chemicals, but it's actually a funny chemical smell that I rather like. And even though I never wear this kind of a green in clothes (fuck, I rarely wear any kind of green!), I don't care about matching. It's a little heavy for its size, but it might just encourage me to clean it out more regularly. Also not crazy about its brown strap (with black trim, WTF?), I'm not liking brown right now, but it's not that pervasive.

В магазине она была одна-единственная (дисконт), а изначально варианты были такой или бежевый. Больше бежевого ненавижу только золотой! А вот если бы красная, а то и оранжевая... Кстати, как бы я не обажала рыжих, рыжие в красном - продам душу!

Well, I don't know if this is the sort of thing where you can get away with not visiting me, too! It might be hard for me to haul over all the stuff I want to give away!

She didn't actually unfriend me, we were never LJ friends. Nor were we friends IRL, but I did get the sense from her that we were at least doing business together. But that doesn't work so well when one person does something, and then the other person goes in a completely different direction without telling the one that does the work. Plus, she just comes off as a total snob - for all I know, she does know everything there is to know about fashion, but I'm sure it's possible to convey that in a less obnoxious way.

My problem is that I don't have a good eye, and you really need to. There are many things in life where I notice detail, but not clothes (and art, and design, and color, and fit... I could go on, but you get my point). After I read one of her critiques a while ago, I was getting dressed and I realized that I only have a very rudimentary idea of how to put things together and what makes me look better. Most days, I go for the basics: the outfit needs to hide my fat folds, be comfortable, cover most of my skin (I'm sun-phobic) and when it comes to colors and patterns, I just kind of wing it. Sometimes I wear several shades of the same one or two colors, sometimes I just wear all solids of different colors. I don't even have that many multicolored pieces and most of the ones I do have are Threadless T-shirts. I really should write about this separately...

So, do you think it was my screening that fucked up your LJ interaction?

ИмХо сумка красивая и я люблю большие так чтоб все все влезло. Но ты меня убила на счет того что не любишь зеленый и коричневый и все равно ее выбрала. Я даже удивилась увидев зеленую сумку, так как реально не помню на тебе зеленого ;)

I know! I like green, but most of it does not look good next to my skin, but I figure, a purse is far enough. Upon closer inspection, the trim on it is either black or close enough to it, and the strap is a small enough part that the brown doesn't bother me. But it is such a comfortable purse! The best part is that whether it's folded or not, I can just grab at its top blindly and find a handle. I just hope it holds up, it's not exactly rugged. I was going to send you a link to my nearly-indestructible bag, but it's broken and you'll just have to see it in person! Now, that's much more my color combination - charcoal, gray and orange, with lots of (subtle) silver-toned hardware.
