Are torpedo tits back? Like, conical?

P.S. I asked Andy if he liked them. He said he can't really tell, "they don't look like tit-shapes."

Stupid Facebook and their new picture viewing mode has made it difficult to link to picture location sources, so these are smaller.

I've been craving ochazuke and I made it today, even though I was out of nori and wasabi. I grilled the salmon on my cast iron griddle with coarse salt, it was just dry enough. Even though my rice wine vinegar was too sweet and the Chinese green tea a little bitter, it totally hit the spot.

Here is the superawesome quiche from last night (please excuse the surroundings, good cooking is messy):

My parents are visiting, so among the perpetual difficulties is figuring out what to feed them. My father is diabetic and very picky about herbs. Cilantro and parsley type stuff. My (atheist) mother keeps kosher, and now she's keeping kosher for passover. Not sure if she's going Sephardic or Ashkenazi (she's half and half), but she didn't even know if starter was allowed, so we think she's pretty liberal with that. She also doesn't like soy milk and a host of other things, and I also ran out of some things like baking soda. Also, I intend to make a roast tomorrow (if Andy manages to fix the remote thermometer that Churka divided into two), and this means no dairy. I have well-documented food issues and Andy deserves some consideration, too.

So I found use of my opened half-can of corn - a modified vegan corn muffin recipe:

1 egg
1/2 can cornmeal (subtract the amount of liquid from the 1 cup below)
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
a bit of vegetable oil
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup ground flax seed meal

Preheat oven to 450F/230C, grease six muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners. Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, flax and salt. Add water, eviscerated corn, egg and oil. Spoon into cups, bake for 10-15 minutes until the usual things happen.

Pictures when Andy fixes my bluetooth and I figure out how to use my nifty new FTP server!

Nor is it hell freezing over. This is Massachusetts, and there they are not used to people being stabbed through the head with a sharp block of frozen water.

Всё-таки надо было из этого города уехать на несколько лет что бы снова его полюбить.

Updated the post where I talk about taking pictures of people on Haight Street.

(Updated with photos, because I rock!)

Not only did I make it to Haight Street on 2 forms of transportation, I ran over a block for my bus and caught it. When I finally made it to Distractions, I serendipitously had The Exact Amount of Dollars in my wallet necessary to purchase the cash-only-plus-$3-surcharge tickets for NYE (the gay/x orgy was $80, but we're going to something else).

Then I hit Buffalo Exchange and bought long red gloves with my gift Visa. I also photographed a whole bunch of cool-looking people on on the street, as that is the hobby I now intend to cultivate (once I get a better camera battery). I also found a shop with a gorgeous collection of slippers, my other new interest. And I took a picture of a girl who referred me to the shop where she got her coat and where I will buy 2 of every single item once I have lots of money.

The pictures are here )

Then, with 7 minutes left on my transfer, I caught the notorious 43 bus home. Not only does it run by as much as an hour late on its schedule, it also hits some of the curviest, steepest and most nausea-inducing routes of our fair city. And invariably, it gets the kinds of drivers who like to slam on the breaks. And there are no forward-facing seats. Aaaaargh! At least the experience ends in a nice walk down a gentle slope in a nice neighborhood.
